Hello ,
Â
Lent is almost upon us - Ash Wednesday (Feb 18) is just over one week away! This year we are bringing back Lent at the Writing Table for anyone who is looking for community right now. What is it you
are hoping for this Lenten season?Â
Â
The season of Lent calls for focus on how our spiritual lives are deeply interwoven with social well-being. Love of God and love of neighbors cannot be separated. Lent was
not created as a solo endeavor, rather as a communal practice.Â
Â
We have seen the positive impact of sharing space and we hope it can help you consider joining us for Lent. Your spiritual practice does not
have to be the same as your neighbor's. Here are just a few examples of what you can do during the time dedicated to Lent at the Writing Table:
Â
- Write or reflect using one of our daily prompts. Each day you will have a new prompt as inspiration. Using them is not required, but they're a great
starting point if you're ever feeling stuck and would like some guidance. Â
- Spend focused time reading or studying. During the 75 minutes of Lent @ WT each day, you have 2 POMs you can use to slow down and focus on reading that may require your deeper attention.
- Use art as an outlet. Creativity doesn't
stop at writing! You can also use this time to pick up your knitting needles or a paintbrush. Spending time on your practice is what matters.Â
Â
However you choose to spend your time, being in community
with others is a blessing we look forward to sharing this Lenten season. We hope you feel inspired to write (or read, or draw, or even meditate!) with us.Â
