Good morning, . In my conversation with Rev. Dr Cláudio Carvalhaes this week, we talk about how to pray. Cláudio tells us about how prayer begins in listening. He recounts a couple of stories of what happened as he gathered teams of collaborative scholars, and what happened when the teams listened and then worshipped together. You don't want to miss this story. I've loved these conversations with Cláudio in recent weeks! This one is definitely no exception! I think you will love it, too.
I give thanks for every pastor, minister, lay leader, and chaplain, who is shifting their vocation in this time of crisis. You weren’t prepared for what we are living through. But if the multiple pandemics which began in 2020 taught us anything, it is that improvisation, pastoral imagination, and spiritual presence are the greatest gifts we can offer to
people in crisis. The prayer I want to offer to you today is for uncertainty, loss and recovery.
A prayer for this season of uncertainty, loss and recoveryO God. We give thanks for the many people who are aligning themselves
with your mercy, your grace, your power, and your guidance, As they help one another to grieve, help one another to survive, and help one another to live. Direct us in this
work, that we might participate in your mercy, your grace, your power, and with your guidance. We offer you our prayers and all the ones we cannot put into words this day. Amyn.

What are you writing in this season? Join us for October!
Fall study, anyone? Retreat focus? Deacon study? Small group curriculum? People who have bought the Finding Our Way Study are diving in to conversations about how we are finding our way and dealing with multiple changes - to the world, to our lives, and to the church. Erin Robinson Hall wrote this study guide to help you lead important conversations as you navigate a new era of ministry. Could your group use a new study for Fall? We need to acknowledge the changes, ask good questions, listen, make space for grief, and start to tell new future stories. The “Finding Our Way” Study Guide can help you do all this and more.
