Dear ,
Â
I am attending the American Academy of Religion & Society for Biblical Literature this week. The meeting gathers about ten thousand academic scholars, religion junkies, and bible nerds in San Diego, California. It’s a place I get to see lots of people I know and appreciate deeply -- some of them for many years. It’s the people who wrote your seminary textbooks. It’s a meeting where collaborations and projects begin and sometimes years later we get to celebrate
them.
Â
I’m going to pass along a few discount codes I received this year:
Â
You can head over to Fortress Press and use the code
AARSBL24 for:Â
30% off Pastoral Imagination by Campbell-ReedÂ
30% off The Empathic God by Frank Woggon
30% off Injustice and the Care of Souls edited by Kujawa-Holbrook & Montagno
Â
Or visit Oxford Press and use the code
AUFLY30 for
30% off Follow Your Bliss and Other Lies about Calling by Bonnie Miller-McLemore
Â
Speaking of Bonnie, while I am in San
Diego, I am interviewing Bonnie about her new book, Follow Your Bliss, and I really think you’re going to love it. Save this email because these discounts are good until the end of the year!
Â
Looking
forward to catching up with you soon. Next week we will be back to our episodes with Bruce Reyes-Chow.
Â
Blessings and peace for a good week ahead. I hope you might lean into gratitude.
Â
Warmly,
Eileen

Â
The Longest NightÂ
How can we respond to seasons of great challenge and difficulty? We grieve and gather with other people of faith.Â
Â
We hope you’ll save the date of Sunday,
December 22. (Registration link coming soon.) We will gather virtually for the longest night of winter. We hope that it may be a space for whatever you are carrying these days.
