Hello, !
Erin here. Today, Eileen has asked me to take over the email message to you while she helps her family through some transitions.
Speaking of transitions, we sure have been through a lot in recent years - collectively and individually, right? I want to tell you why I spent time writing Finding Our Way.
Have you seen the thing in your social media feed when memories pop up? Facebook will put up a picture of you and a friend from five, ten years ago. With a blank spot for you to add a picture from today. Sometimes, it's a sweet memory. Sometimes those side by side images are a gut punch.
Church has changed. We are changed. Ministry for lay people and clergy is changed. A side by side picture of today and ten years ago can probably bring up some cringe moments, some laughter, and perhaps some grief. When do we ever make space to really talk about that?
A group study that made sense to me is one that had space for conversations that we usually avoid. A study that offered exercises that could spark imagination and get people to move right into their frustrations, griefs, and hopes. Three sessions for any
small group that is interested in diving in and sorting out what a hopeful way forward can look like: Finding Our Way, Bearing Witness, and Revealing Hope.
