So much of what of my writing, teaching, and public presenting in the last 20 years has been leading to this book. Baptized & Ordained: How Women and Queer Clergy are Changing Ministry for Good has roots in my recent books and reports. You'll find links to them below.
Today, what I want you to hear is my invitation to enter a community of conversation, gatherings, reading, feedback, and learning from each other. The practice of
ministry is changing, not always for the good. Yet for 60 years growing numbers of women and queer ministers have been making it better. And it is time to share their stories, your stories, and strategies for change.
This community gathering is around my book. But more importantly is it it is about you and me working together to understand and continue meaningful changes to the
practice of ministry. Right now more than ever, churches, and many other new forms of ministry, need a better understand of enduring puzzles that keep marginalization in place and also the strategies that make meaningful change.
The Baptized & Ordained community and my book will do this and so much more.
