This week's advice for writers from Robert Boice is Rule No. 3: "Write in brief, daily sessions (with constancy and moderation)." This rule is at the heart of what the Writing Table offers. Our sessions are brief - just two 25 minute poms. No binge writing!
We write daily M-F to keep the habit going. And this way of writing leads to constancy -- instead of bursts of writing that go on
too long, followed by attempts to avoid or restart the project. And brief, daily sessions also lead to moderation, which Boice found in 30 years of research with academic writers is far more sustainable and productive than any other method. His mindful approach to daily brief sessions is key to our process at the Writing Table.
I look forward to seeing you this week!
Warmly,
Eileen
