For the next few weeks we are going to recall together the advice for writers from Robert Boice. We'll start with Rule No. 1: "Wait, patiently and actively." That
is what we do each morning at the Writing Table when we gather, say hello, set intentions, and breathe. We are waiting. Not rushing in to get words on the page, but waiting patiently and actively for just a couple of minutes.
This actually makes beginning and continuing the writing itself a little easier. Boice studied hundreds of academic writers and all of his advice about writing productively and with greater ease are based in 30 years of research. His mindful approach is a launching point for our process each weekday.
I look forward to seeing you soon at the Writing Table!
Warmly,
Eileen
